I grew up in my father’s music shop and was teaching guitar when I was 8 years old. Though I left teaching behind years ago to pursue my professional career, I’ve always liked teaching and sharing what I know with others.  And now that I’m semi-retired, why not… What else am I gonna do? ;0)

My approach to teaching guitar is based on my passion for playing and the magic of making music. I feel that focusing on rhythm, melody, harmony, and strong chord fundimentals are the keys to unlocking the wonder of guitar.

• Playing Songs and Chord Progressions
• Notes along the fretboard and how to find them

• The major chord shapes and how to apply them across the fretboard
• Ear training to ID notes, keys, progressions, and more …  
• Understanding and using chord charts (Nashville Number System)
• Identifying fretboard positions and voicing
• LEAD guitar playing based on chords and triad positions
• Improvising, phrasing, timing and more

There’s nothing more “country” than a twangin’ Fender telecaster. Studying some of the master players and licks that have defined the genre, we can focus on bends, double-stops, chicken pickin’, and other techniques.
